Founded in 2012 with a hope of restoring reverence, care, compassion and concern for the elderly The Senior Zone was formed. Now in its 10th year, The Senior Zone has become a forum of connection and inspiring possibilities for older adults seeking tips and directions to senior programs, services, tools, resources, events, advice and cultural tidbits. The Senior Zone is devoted to senior citizens, their caregivers and the families who support and encourage them. The Senior Zone provides unbiased information via a variety of professional organizations and subject matter experts throughout the U.S & beyond.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER
SHAWN PERRY
Shawn Perry is the Executive Producer and Host of The Senior Zone; a weekly radio program dedicated to serving the needs of the older adult community. Since 2012, Shawn has worked tirelessly to promote the well-being of older adults and champion their causes. He attributes his reverence for the older adults to his late grandmother, Rosa Perry, whom instilled a profound sense of empathy for the vulnerable, frail and elderly.
Shawn is a retired military officer; serving nearly 22 years in the U.S. Air Force, has a B.S. from the University of Maryland, and has lived in the Washington, DC area since 1985.
